Plant Care
Watering

The Aglaonema Maria's soil should be kept moist at all times. Do not allow it to dry-out. Make sure not to overwater as this may encourage root rot.

Fertilizer

Feed your Aglaonema monthly during the spring and summer months with a general-purpose houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength such as our All Purpose Fertilizer (20-20-20). No fertilizer is needed during the winter months when growth naturally slows. Your Aglaonema is mildly toxic to pets and humans.

Light

Your Aglaonema prefers indirect bright light. It can adapt to low light, but the growth will slow considerably. Direct morning sunlight is fine for this plant, but avoid direct afternoon sunlight which can burn the leaves. If you don't have an ideal location for your Aglaonema, use a Grow Light.

Temperature

Aglaonema modestum, the most popular species, will thrive in an interior room lit only by a fluorescent light. In the Tropical South, aglaonemas can be used outdoors in shady plantings.

Repotting

Aglaonema should be repotted into fresh soil every two years. This not only replenishes the soil, but it also allows you to divide your plant if you wish to or to increase the size of its pot.
