Watering
In addition to high humidity, your Calathea Burle Marx also likes soil that is consistently moist. As you can guess, it thrives in moist to damp environments. This means regular watering especially during the warmer months. But, avoid waterlogged, soggy or wet soil.

Fertilizer
To help your Calathea Burle Marx grow its best, apply an all-purpose fertilizer during the spring and summer. Once a month feeding during this time is enough to supply it with the nutrients it needs to grow, look healthy and produce vibrant colored leaves. It does not need to be fed during the fall and winter seasons

Light
An excellent indoor plant for low-light situations. This low-growing variety features icy-blue leaves with dark green tiger stripes and purple undersides. Happy with indirect bright light, but will also thrive with fluorescent lighting, making it a great choice for the office.

Temperature
Ctenanthe Burle Marxii plant prefers shade. Do not place this plant in direct sunlight, as the bright rays can scorch the leaves. If growing the plant outdoors, find a spot with some morning or late day sun. When grown indoors, consider placing it in a room with an eastern-facing window with bright indirect light.

Repotting
Ctenanthe Burle-Marxii requires moist, fertile soil with good drainage. Use a mixture of regular potting soil with some peat moss and a little sand. If you move the fishbone prayer plant indoors during the winter, consider placing it in a large pot, instead of growing in the ground.
